Combustion Enhancement of Pulverized Coal with Targeted Oxygen-Enrichment in an Ironmaking Blast Furnace

In this study, a targeted oxygen-enrichment technology was proposed to enhance coal combustion in an ironmaking blast furnace. The flow and characteristics under were investigated using the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method. results showed that oxygen utilization burnout significantly increased oxygen-enrichment. at 24% O2 concentration 86.29%, which maximum indicated increase of 13.13%. However, cooling effect room-temperature had some adverse effects on combustion. Given this, particle temperature based process further enhanced. 600 K 25% 91.12% 17.96%, maximum.
